How this business actually started

In February 2024, our founder Emma was trying to source retatrutide vials for a personal research project. Every Canadian vendor she found either had 3-week lead times from overseas warehouses, no cold-chain shipping, or refused to answer basic questions about HPLC purity. The two Canadian suppliers she called had their voicemail boxes full.

She emailed a lab tech she knew from her Master's program at UBC. He knew a contract chemist in Richmond who had inventory of clinical-grade retatrutide sitting in a temperature-controlled storage locker with nowhere to go. Within three weeks, they'd shipped their first order — one 10mg vial to a researcher in Squamish, packed in a Yeti Roadie 24 with two ice packs and a hand-written reconstitution guide.

That order got a photo posted to a Canadian peptide community on Reddit. Within 48 hours, 40 more orders came in. Within a month, they'd moved out of the Yeti-and-ice-pack era, invested in proper cold-chain packaging tested by a third-party thermal engineering firm in Delta, BC, and set up a monitored 2-8°C storage room. Within a year, they'd shipped to every province and both major territories.

The one thing we obsess about

Cold-chain. That's the answer. Peptides are stable molecules when kept cold, and unstable molecules when they're not. Every part of our operation is organized around keeping product at 2-8°C from the moment it arrives at our Burnaby warehouse to the moment your box lands on your porch.

Our storage room is a purpose-built 400 square foot walk-in refrigerator with dual redundant compressors, three separate temperature sensors that trigger SMS alerts to our on-call phone if the temperature deviates outside 2-8°C for more than 90 seconds. When a compressor failed at 2 AM on a Wednesday in September 2024, three team members were at the warehouse within an hour to load our entire inventory into a backup rental unit. Not one milligram was lost.

Our shipping kits are tested twice a year by a thermal packaging firm in Delta, BC. We test in both directions: sitting a fully-loaded box in a +30°C oven for 48 hours (simulating summer transit), and sitting a fully-loaded box in a -30°C freezer for 24 hours (simulating a February shipment to Winnipeg). If a kit design fails either test, we redesign until it passes both.

Our team

Six people, all in Vancouver except one team member in Ottawa who handles Eastern Canada customer support during Atlantic timezone hours.

What we won't do

We're a small company by choice. We could scale faster by cutting corners on quality control, using cheaper packaging, or automating our customer support with chatbots. We won't do any of that.

We won't sell product that hasn't been independently HPLC-tested by our Richmond lab partner. We won't ship without ice packs sized to your specific box. We won't answer support questions with a chatbot that pretends to be human. We won't accept credit card payments that would require us to misrepresent what we sell. We won't ship internationally, even though it would double our revenue. We won't take shortcuts.

What we will do: answer every WhatsApp message personally, ship every box within 24 hours of payment confirmation, back every order with a real 60-day guarantee, and treat every buyer like they're the reason our business exists. Because they are.
